First Two Pontiac Firebird Prototypes Dragged from Connecticut Barn
Description: The very first Pontiac Firebirds ever built have been discovered hidden in a Connecticut barn. Richard Rawlings, host of Discovery Channel’s Fast N’ Loud, found the prototypes after asking a client if he had anything interesting to sell. The client didn’t, but he knew where Firebirds No. 1 and 2 were hiding.
The cars were hand-built by John DeLorean and his design team using Chevrolet Camaro bits. Firebird 1 debuted just five months after its Bowtie cousin.
